The One Behind It All

Kaley holding a glass of wine

Dear Twenty Somethings,

My name is Kaley and this is my blog. I've been wanting to start a blog for a long time now, but I never really knew what exactly it was I wanted to write about. After doing a ton of research, I finally decided to create a lifestyle blog sharing my stories as well as my journey as I try to figure out how to survive in this crazy world.

I'm getting ready to graduate college and I'm not going to lie to you, I'm absolutely terrified. I guess I'm hoping that by creating this place for me to jot down everything I'm going through, I'll be able to make some sense of it all and hopefully figure out how to make it out of my 20's alive. But for starters, let's just get to know a little bit about each other.

I was born in raised in a not so small suburb outside of Kansas City, Missouri called Lee's Summit. For those of you who aren't familiar with that area, it's just easier for me to say I'm from KC. I'm currently attending college at Northwest Missouri State University and will be graduating at the end of April with a B.S. in Public Relations and Communication.

I guess I'm at that point in my life where I'm supposed to know exactly where I want to go after graduation and what my next step is but, spoiler alert, I'm pretty lost. Right now I'm just trying to take it day by day, applying to whatever job postings in my future career field that grab my interest and not limiting myself geographically.

You see, at the beginning of this year, I was just getting out of a very unhealthy relationship. At the time, of course, I thought the world was ending and I wasn't sure how I was ever going to survive. But through the help of my amazing friends and family, I learned how to love myself again after a year and a half of going through emotional abuse and feeling like I was never good enough. I learned how to fall in love with life once again and I learned what I consider to be one of the most important life lessons to date: don't let anyone dictate your happiness.

So now I'm on this journey to find what makes me one hundred percent truly happy and figure out where exactly I want my life to go. I hope that you guys stick around to figure it out with me and maybe, just maybe, some of the things I write about can help you on your own journey.

With that being said, do not hesitate to leave comments, questions, blog post suggestions, or anything else on any of my pages or on my contact page! I want this blog to be as helpful to you as it will be for me, but I can't make sure that's possible without your input.

With all my love,
